Curated by Alfonso de la Torre and organized in collaboration with the Fundación Pablo Palazuelo, the exhibition can be visited until September 21, 2026 in the chapel of the exhibition space in Cuenca.
The exhibition brings together thirteen representative works from the artist’s mature period: nine large-format paintings, three sculptures, and one of his final drawings. Through them, visitors can enter the formal universe of Pablo Palazuelo, characterized by the exploration of lines, signs, and geometric structures, present in series such as “Red,” “Circino,” and “De Somnis”.
The exhibition title is taken from a reflection by the philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy, who defines art as “an inscribed delight,” referring to the contemplative and profound dimension of artistic creation.
A key figure of abstraction, Pablo Palazuelo developed a body of work where art and thought converge, integrating influences from disciplines such as philosophy, science, and mathematics. His international career was consolidated during his stay in Paris and later strengthened in Spain, especially after his relationship with Fernando Zóbel.
Recipient of the National Prize for Plastic Arts and the Velázquez Prize, among other distinctions, his work is part of major international collections such as the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Centre Pompidou, the Fondation Maeght, the Fundación Juan March, the Kunsthaus Zürich, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the MNCARS, the Artium, and the MUN – Museo de la Universidad de Navarra.
The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the relevance of one of the most distinctive languages of contemporary art.
